Summary: Daniel ponders over the amount of lists currently invading his and Jack's life

For a man who read and retained whole books and encyclopaedic lists, for a living, more or less, Daniel was fed up of lists!

He and Jack had just two more nights on planet Earth, before they headed out, hopefully, with success, to the Pegasus Galaxy, taking a whole Expedition with them...

There were lists everywhere! Lists of what to pack, and inventories of equipment they had to oversee, but, for a change, someone else was packing... Lists of Expedition members, fellow pioneers, lists of people to say hello to, and farewell to... The new SG1, this Galaxy's SG1, consisted of Colonel Charles Kowalsky, Colonel Cameron Mitchell, Doctor of Engineering, Arty Nielson, Major Peter Flemming, Captain Myka Bering and former NCIS Agent, Tony DiNozzo...

Since Chevron guy, Walter, had got a promotion, and was coming to the Pegasus Galaxy with Jack, Daniel and the 'gang', for the privilege of pushing an extra Chevron, there was also going to be a new head of Chevrons, Timothy 'Tim' Mcgee, a Tech, particularly Computers, Genius, an M.I.T graduate, whom previously worked with NCIS, in a team headed by Jack's friend, Jethro, and alongside Anthony DiNozzo. Daniel had met Mcgee and DiNozzo at a meeting this morning, as well as the other members of SG1 mark II... A nice bunch of people – Capable – You had to be if you'd worked with Jethro Gibbs, so Daniel thought that they were leaving the safety of his home-world in good hands...

Daniel and Jack had also met the Contingent of Homeland Security, the Attachette Sector who would be travelling to the Pegasus Galaxy. Hetty Lang, former NCIS Undercover Agent, leader of the L.A branch, whose primary team, some of them, had also been transferred to the Pegasus Expedition, was the Head of the Homeland Security Representatives, whom would be travelling so far from home in a little under forty eight hours time...

Daniel's mind returned to those friend's of Jack's he'd met today, and he smiled, recalling the sparks that already existed, for better or worse, he hoped better, between his friend, Teal'c, and former Mossad Agent, Ziva David. The two people, literally from different planets, had similar personal histories... Jack had taken a leap of faith in trusting Teal'c. His friend, Jethro had taken a similar leap of faith in trusting Ziva David. The government continued to struggle with itself and its concerns in trusting them both... But Daniel knew that he and Jack trusted Teal'c with their lives, and he had the sense that, someday in the not too distant future, they would feel that same trust for Ms. David.

Teal'c would be on the Expedition too. He had indeed served his people, to free the citizens of Chulak, but though his people were honourable, it had been almost a thankless job for the great Jaffa Warrior. Rya'c had grown into a brilliant and independent man. He'd had no option really. Teal'c was proud of what his son had managed to become, but he also felt some guilt that he and his son had never been allowed to become a proper family unit. Moving to another Galaxy, Daniel knew, Teal'c questioned the wisdom of, and Daniel knew the pain it caused his friend, because the family split between Daniel and his grandfather, still plagued Daniel's conscience.... None the less, Teal'c would be coming to the Pegasus Galaxy with his friends Daniel and Jack – Daniel knew his feelings were a little selfish, but he would be glad that another familiar face, another family member, would be joining them... He just prayed to the only God he still tried to believe in, that they would all be kept safe from whatever was out there waiting for them in the Pegasus Galaxy... Despite wanting to be a part of the journey, Daniel couldn't help but question whether there should be an Expedition to Atlantis at all...

On that note, Daniel called out to Jack, "Remember to pack that washbag when you've finished with it!" as he sat in Jack's bed, waiting to be joined by him. Officially, the two men had separate homes here on Earth, and they would have separate quarters on Atlantis, more than likely... Unofficially, however...

"Yeah, yeah!" Jack called in reply from his stance in front of the mirror in his bathroom...

"We can't leave anything here... From tomorrow, we're 'grounded' at the SGC, until we're..." Daniel paused.

"Not..." Jack completed for him, walking into the room...

Daniel looked over and smiled... "There's still someone we haven't said farewell to..."

"Who?" Jack kind of knew where this was going...

"The bed..!" Daniel replied, patting it, their old friend...

Jack climbed onto his bed, the bed he now was privileged to share with Daniel. He noted, gratefully, how his own, (Jack's), knees, seemed to be in good shape these days... Then, he realised that perhaps it wouldn't be a great idea to ruin them on nearly the eve of a major knew expedition and responsibility... But then, he looked at Daniel, and he knew that, though he had to try and be sensible, the two of them must say a worthy farewell to their beloved bed..!

The End
