Summary: Jack is an accidental, walk-in witness to some inflagrante behaviour by two Airmen... Seeing them, and walking away without them knowing he was ever there, is a catalyst in Jack for something he knows he is unlikely ever to be able to walk away from
Info: Original Apollo and Starbuck borrowed from their usual universe for the sake of this story, where Battlestar does not exist in any form

The water rivulets, the noise of the shower water, were punctuated with the noises of sex. The two men clung to each other's wet skin, and from their whispers, it was obvious that they just couldn't not do this – They couldn't hold it all back any longer!

Jack knew they were in trouble; that they should be for doing this on Base... But all he could do was walk away unseen, and leave Lee Apollo and Kal Thrace to what they were doing – Hoping that no one else would witness the love they were making...

Jack had sat in this briefing for about an hour, and it would go on for longer, he knew... Though the stuff he had to talk about and listen to had come to a close, he couldn't really get up and walk out, for several reasons... He looked at Daniel, transfixed. He was, on Daniel... Then, all of a sudden, images of Apollo and Thrace came over him, his mind and body twitched, though, to everyone else, he was pretty sure, he looked like he always did in these meetings – Glazed over. Muscle sinew, water, sexual moans, wet hair, piercing eyes... It was all there, in Jack's mind... But then, the image shifted, and it was him and Daniel... It was those blue eyes belonging to his best friend, that looked at him, those arms that gripped him, Daniel's body that turned, and was braced against his... He was kissing the drops of water from Daniel's spine, cupping those shoulders of his... He could feel cum leave his body, and Daniel's... New beads of sweat washed by wonderfully hot water...

Jack looked at Daniel... Where had those thoughts come from? From within his, Jack's own body, obviously... He knew he would have to try and ignore them, but he also knew that things would never be the same again... He was longing for his best friend, his, as far as Jack knew, entirely straight best friend, who was still grieving for his wife who died only a year ago...

It was hopeless, wasn't it? But Jack knew things had changed, at least for him, forever...

The End
