Love Has A Life Of Its Own

Summary: Daniel calls Jack over to his place in the middle of the night, and when Jack turns up on the doorstep, Daniel is determined to invite him (into his life..!)

Daniel opened the door to his place, and took Jack, by the hand, over the threshold.

Jack looked at their meshed hands, then, at Daniel's face, as he heard the door slam behind him. His glance returned to Daniel...

... And then, Daniel kissed him.

Some moments later, Jack stared at Daniel, as Daniel stepped back, their fingertips still touching...

"Err, Daniel... Are you okay?" Jack asked, dumfounded. "You haven't been at the beer, have you?"

"Do I smell of beer, or any other alcohol?" Daniel asked, eyeballing Jack.

"No." Jack noted aloud. "So, what's the matter?"

"I'm fed up of driving myself nuts with it – I couldn't take it any longer!" Daniel replied.

"What??" Jack was still perplexed, or pretending to be – Even he wasn't sure.

"You know what, Jack!" Daniel flustered. In a half a second, Daniel stepped forward, and kissed Jack again.

This time, when they barely stepped apart, each man looked at each other in silence.

"I love you..." Daniel admitted to Jack quietly.

Jack reached around Daniel, embracing him as he stood there. He caressed Daniel without words. Daniel leaned into him, and he yearned for Daniel.

When Daniel looked up at Jack, Jack touched Daniel's face.

"I love you..." Jack told Daniel.

Then, standing there, in the hallway, Daniel and Jack stood, not a bit of space between them, kissing and making love...
