Summary: Jack and Daniel talk things over, before heading home
"Thanks, Janet..." Jack said, as he and Daniel left her office...
She smiled, and her friends, Jack and Daniel, smiled back.
Jack walked Daniel to their car with a hand lightly on his shoulder, and then, helped him into the car.
His own car door shut after he'd walked around to the driver's seat, Jack turned to Daniel...
Daniel looked at Jack, trying not to cry, and getting angry with himself.
Jack put his hand on Daniel's knee. "You're my man, Daniel – My man."
"Some man!" Daniel pounded his fist on his other knee.
"I couldn't do what you are having to..." Jack touched Daniel's pregnant belly. "I'm not man enough!"
Daniel tried to smile.
"After the baby's born, and when you feel ready, I'll let you be on top however many times you need to be, if it helps you prove your manhood – But you've no need to prove it, Daniel, I swear to you, you haven't!!!" Jack spoke honestly.
"I'll probably be on the pill for the rest of my life!" Daniel laughed bitterly.
"Maybe not. Janet's a clever woman!" Jack assured his love. "You've never had monthly's before. You won't after. Things will go back to how they were for you – what you're used to -That's how you got pregnant – nothing to warn you that you might – You are a man after all... All that stuff, thank God, is coped with by your body, well enough, inside – Janet said so. "
" Some men, even those who want to keep their female insides, whether they're like you and me, or they've got a wife who can't have babies, have had to have the build up of all that stuff removed because they're system can't have monthly periods...." Daniel drifted off for ages, anchored by Jack's strong but gentle grip of his hand. Then, he, Daniel, sighed. One thing at a time – Baby first." Daniel caressed the bump that housed his baby, so affectionately.
"Yeah-sure-you-betcha!" Jack grinned.
"I'll never, ever leave you, Daniel. Not ever." Jack stated with all his heart. "You're my man, I promise you!"
Daniel grinned. "Thanks!"
Jack grinned, too. "I'm so glad you're happy about that!" He said, sarcastically, but not hurt.
"I am!" Daniel touched Jack's knee, and stroked his thigh. "Drive me home and take care of me..!"
"Always!" Jack promised.
Jack started the car, and drove his family home...
