Summary: Jack and Daniel can't ignore what they have any longer

Every time Daniel stood close, it drove Jack wild..! Cliché to say it, think it even, he knew... But it was true!

There was what Jack believed was known as a 'frisson' of chemistry between him and Daniel since they'd gone to that planet, and been the only ones in the team exposed to those naturally occurring hormones in a particular part of the territories...

They had been alone, thank God... Thank God, because they had gone at it... The sex was great, but then, they were so overridden by hormones...

Then, they'd come home, and, were treated for the hormone in-balance, no one but them knowing what had gone on, and they had to get back to normal...

"Please, do come over, Jack..." Daniel said, and put the phone in his apartment down.

They had, sort of, tried to talk about this, about whether, separately, they should go back to the Infirmary, and ask whether or not the in-balance could still be occurring... Embarrassing, perhaps, but it wasn't embarrassment that stopped them... In the end, nor was it that they just wanted an excuse.

When Daniel had gone to Jack's the other night, they had both said they were sure that the in-balance had been dealt with, but that they still wanted to be together... Though they hadn't admitted that last bit... They couldn't.

Jack walked into Daniel's and they stood there.

Jack didn't know what to say, what to do... He wanted to reach out, and to touch Daniel, because he knew that, for once, Daniel didn't have the words either...

Daniel's fingers twitched, wanting to curl around the fingers of Jack's hand, to begin by holding hands, hoping it may even be as simple as that, it may deal with things, it may allow them, suddenly, to communicate what they'd hidden for years, even to themselves...

Each man knew that the arguments why they shouldn't, were going through the other's head. The obvious questions they already knew the answer to... The words, wanting to be spoken, that would lead to trouble...

Jack looked to Daniel, though he really hadn't stopped...

Jack looking over to Daniel, brought tears that Daniel really didn't want to cry, to his eyes...

"Sorry..." Jack murmured.

Daniel nodded. "So am I..."

Jack found himself gently walking over to Daniel, reaching out a hand...

Daniel found himself taking that hand in his...

And, then, that was no longer enough, and they were, of course, in each other's arms, breathing kisses into each other's mouths.

"I can't give this up..." Daniel whispered.

"Me either..." Jack admitted.

"Has this really been here for us the whole time..?" Daniel asked Jack.

"It was love we made, that first night..." Jack confided.

"I know..." Daniel agreed. "I know it was... I know it is... Now." Daniel spoke of what they'd both suspected.

They continued into the night, whether they should or not... In the dimly lit living room, on the sofa, and then, in Daniel's bed... They were finally together.
