1st, I identified this story as a PWP but it has a plot, it's just an entirely gratuitous one, created purely as an escape to give me a break from the current storyline. Bottom line? It's just fun porn... It's a lot of porn, but it's fun porn.
2nd, the title; now lord knows there were plenty of Shakespearian quotes I could've borrowed for the title. But this one made me laugh the most so I'm afraid it's Mr. Wells that gets the honor of rolling in his grave.
3rd, this story should be considered as a standalone prequel in the current, 'My Beloved's' storyline. Both Sam and Janet are majors and they are married but if it's important for the gentle reader to place them somewhere in the familiar storyline of the television series in this reality, then you may insert it wherever you like... ;~)

This installment jumps in towards the end of 'Emancipation' from Season 1. That episode was so insulting I decided in a more intelligent and believable world this story would have played out much differently.
Here, Sam and Janet are both captains, they have yet to marry but they are living together.
This is what happened in their universe...
A quick note: we all know how women are treated around the globe in cultures we consider less enlightened and evolved than our own. However, of the assaults reported in 2007, statistics indicate that in the United States a woman is raped every 6 minutes and battered every 15 seconds. It also bears mentioning that it is widely believed by law enforcement agencies that anywhere from less than half to just a fraction of these offenses are ever reported at all. This means if you watch the pathetically executed and offensive episode, 'Emancipation', during that hour somewhere in the U.S., at the very least 10 women will have been raped and another 240 women will have been beaten or otherwise abused.

It occurred to me during a barefoot walk on the beach one morning that if the gentle reader wanted to know what Sam and Janet's relationship was all about in this series but didn't want to read the installments all she would have to do is listen to the song, 'When You Say You Love Me'; kudos to lyricist Robin Scoffield for saying it so simply and eloquently.
Oh, and the planes that fly staff and military personnel to and from Area 51 via the Las Vegas airport really are called, 'Janet Flights'

As for her new lover in this episode, Natka Makara, think Trisha Helfer, the Natalie version of Six from the same BSG. (I really liked the idea of them being a couple.) Here I've given her the last name, Makara, which is Sanskrit for Capricorn (or Caprica, the more popular Six from that series) in Hindu astrology
